Land sliding in Hunza


This pic took from pameer times news Hunza.
Dear every one,

There is land sliding in Hunza and death arround 20 persons.

Due to land sliding there become a big lake at Hunza river.And

now the Hunza and uppper Hunza people are in trubel due to sunk

the villages in upper Hunza.And when the block will open the flood

can destroy some of the Hunza villages which is located nearer to river.

We pray for god to save our area and people.

Karakorum High way under construction

Hello,
I went to Hunza on 10 days leaves on 16 of this month to 25 July.
When i went bus stand to go Hunza.The incharge told me that it
take 30 hours to Hunza i became very surprised that he is told lie.
But when we started our journey to Hunza the road was clear till
Chatar plain.But further from Batagram the road was under repaire
till Thakot.From Thakot road was bumpy.There fore it took 10 to
11 hours to Besham from Islamabad.Further to Besham the road
was a bit clear compare to between Thakot to Besham. We arrived
Dassu at 5 o clock early in the morning.From Dassu to Chilas it took
4 hours we took break fast at Chilas.Then we departed to Gilgit the
road was totally demaged by Chinese.There it took 5 hours 30
minutes. We arrived Gilgit at 15:30.From Gilgit it took 4 hours 30
minutes to Hunza.

The Shandoor polo

Good Morning,
In Northern Area of Pakistan there are many beautiful places to see but one of the most beautiful place is called Shandoor.
Shandoor is located in Northern Area of Pakistan between Gilgit and Chitral of NWFP.From Gilgit it takes 11 to 12 hours by 4*4 jeep.The road is bumpy and under repair.Actually Shandoor is a Pass through to Chitral from Gilgit.The alleviation
is arround 3700 mtr from sea level.There is a Polo ground and beautiful lake.The polo ground is the most highiest ground in the world.The Chitral and Gilgit people are playing the traditional polo matches every year on July 07 to 12.Many local people and foriegners are going there to see this traditional festival every year.On this occassions the two team of Chitral and Gilgit are playing polo matches on trained horses.The local people playing traditional musics to entertain the people.The festival contineu for four to five days.And people are staying on tent and making fire of wood at night time.
The festival comprises three teams each from Chitral and Gilgat: Chitral A, Chitral, B, Chitral C, Gilgit A, Gilgit B and Gilgit C. The matches are played between the A, B and C teams of each area
with the A teams meeting on the final day.
But yeaterday the Chitral team has won by 10-3 goals.The Chitral are wining last four years.
This festival is held every year on July please come to see you will enjoy a lot.

The Meaning of Hunza

Good after
noon,
Today i will
write about
the meaning
of Hunza.
Many people
thinks that
the word
Hunza is the
combination
of two wards.
One is Hun & onether is Za.The meaning of Hun is the Bow and
meaning of Za is Arrow.Mostly people thinks that the Hunza
valley is looks like the shape of Bow & Arrow.Therefore they
took the name Hunza.In burushaski language (the local language
of central Hunza) forBow and Arrow we called Huntsu niza.And
the Word Hunza is similar to that burushaski word.

Altit fort in different sides

Altit is the second Oldest village in Hunza.
The Altit Fort is built on the big rock. Altit is the second oldest village in Hunza after
Ganish village.On the top of Watch tower of Altit Fort there is a wooden Ibex has
decorated. This was the tradition and
culture of Hunza.In Hunza the people
were hunting of Ibex.And to show to
people of his hunting he was decroting
of Ibex horn on his house roof.
