There is land sliding in Hunza and death arround 20 persons.

Due to land sliding there become a big lake at Hunza river.And

now the Hunza and uppper Hunza people are in trubel due to sunk

the villages in upper Hunza.And when the block will open the flood

can destroy some of the Hunza villages which is located nearer to river.

We pray for god to save our area and people.

Hello,
I went to Hunza on 10 days leaves on 16 of this month to 25 July.
When i went bus stand to go Hunza.The incharge told me that it
take 30 hours to Hunza i became very surprised that he is told lie.
But when we started our journey to Hunza the road was clear till
Chatar plain.But further from Batagram the road was under repaire
till Thakot.From Thakot road was bumpy.There fore it took 10 to
11 hours to Besham from Islamabad.Further to Besham the road
was a bit clear compare to between Thakot to Besham. We arrived
Dassu at 5 o clock early in the morning.From Dassu to Chilas it took
4 hours we took break fast at Chilas.Then we departed to Gilgit the
road was totally demaged by Chinese.There it took 5 hours 30
minutes. We arrived Gilgit at 15:30.From Gilgit it took 4 hours 30
minutes to Hunza.

The Shandoor polo

In Northern Area of Pakistan there are many beautiful places to see but one of the most beautiful place is called Shandoor.

Shandoor is located in Northern Area of Pakistan between Gilgit and Chitral of NWFP.From Gilgit it takes 11 to 12 hours by 4*4 jeep.The road is bumpy and under repair.Actually Shandoor is a Pass through to Chitral from Gilgit.The alleviation

is arround 3700 mtr from sea level.There is a Polo ground and beautiful lake.The polo ground is the most highiest ground in the world.The Chitral and Gilgit people are playing the traditional polo matches every year on July 07 to 12.Many local people and foriegners are going there to see this traditional festival every year.On this occassions the two team of Chitral and Gilgit are playing polo matches on trained horses.The local people playing traditional musics to entertain the people.The festival contineu for four to five days.And people are staying on tent and making fire of wood at night time.

The festival comprises three teams each from Chitral and Gilgat: Chitral A, Chitral, B, Chitral C, Gilgit A, Gilgit B and Gilgit C. The matches are played between the A, B and C teams of each area

with the A teams meeting on the final day.

But yeaterday the Chitral team has won by 10-3 goals.The Chitral are wining last four years.

This festival is held every year on July please come to see you will enjoy a lot.

The Meaning of Hunza

of Hunza.

Many people

thinks that

the word

Hunza is the

combination

of two wards.

One is Hun & onether is Za.The meaning of Hun is the Bow and

meaning of Za is Arrow.Mostly people thinks that the Hunza

valley is looks like the shape of Bow & Arrow.Therefore they

took the name Hunza.In burushaski language (the local language

of central Hunza) forBow and Arrow we called Huntsu niza.And

the Word Hunza is similar to that burushaski word.

Altit fort in different sides

Altit is the second Oldest village in Hunza.

The Altit Fort is built on the big rock. Altit is the second oldest village in Hunza after

Ganish village.On the top of Watch tower of Altit Fort there is a wooden Ibex has

decorated. This was the tradition and

culture of Hunza.In Hunza the people

were hunting of Ibex.And to show to

people of his hunting he was decroting

of Ibex horn on his house roof.

In Shangrila Hunza there are many talent of singing but one of

the most famous singer is Mr.Shahid Akhtar Qalandari.

here i am posting a video which is about a tribute to Mr.Shahis

Akhtar .He is one of my most idiol causin.Whom will marry next

month.Now he is living in Kuwait.He is 1 year younger than

me.When we were arround ten years old he was famous

for his melodious voice.When he was singing every one

got together and were listening him.

The Hanging Gardens of Hunza

Hello,

Good Morning,

Hunza is located at arround 2400 to 3000 mt from the sea level.

Therefore in Hunza is surrounded by 7000 mt to 7800 mt high

mountains and the long and big glaciers.

It is saying that, the Hunza valley was covered by the glaciers,due

to global warming the glaciers has melted and left the soils.

Any way the Hunza have different hanging garden.The villages are

located 200 to 350 mt high from Hunza river.

Paragliding in Hunza Valley

the weather is cloudy because of its high mountain.But

when the weather is clear its the best place in Pakistan

In Hunza we have four different seasons.Winter from (1st Dec to

31st Feb)Blossom (1st Mar to 31st May) Summer (1st June to 31st

Aug) Autom (1st Sep to 30th Nov).Every seasons are very beautiful.

But winter is more beautiful when the snow come down the valley

and the whole valley looks white.In winter the children are playing

with snow.But the old aged people are just stay in house while

making fire.And taking the Hunza typical traditional warm food.

Good Morning,

Hunza is very famous for long life.There are many secrets of

longivity.

1). The one secret is that,people were hard worker as compare

today.

2). Food was not oily or spicy.Using nuts oil for cooking food.
3). People were passing there lives without stress and free

tenssion.

4). The fresh water and fresh air.

5). The people had not facility of transport.They were walking

every where even on the mountain arround 5000 mtr.

So therefore the people had long life but now it is decreasing

because of the stress and tensions etc.

Here is the Pic of my grandfather's Mr.Hamayuun Baig.He has

passed away last year when he was 105 years old.And his younger

brother Mr.Mohabbat Shah has passed away 2 years ago when he

was 102 years old.There are many people who have more than 100

years old.The very old person has 118 years in Hunza many years

ago he has passed away.

Ganish Village

Good Morning.
In Hunza we have three old villages.Ganish village is the most

oldest village in Hunza.Basically Ganish means the ''junction of road''.

In ancient time the there was a ''Silk Route''going to different areas.

The ancient people were going by this way to China,Tibet,and India,

Afghanistan,Ghandahara.Specially the monks,students were going to

Ghandahara for study about Buddhism.

The settelment in Ganish is very interesting.When Islamism has

came in Hunza,the local people has built five mosque.Which its wood

carving is really interesting.And the pool in centre of Ganish Village

is brriliant,because the people said that,it used for training of swiming.

In 1970 there was a big flood on Hunza river,because of this flood

arround 70 percent village has dimaged.And it was saying that,there
was 14 towers arround the village for watching the enemies.But now
there is only 1 or 2 towers are left.

The Hunza Mountain (Bubli Mo Ting)

Good after noon,

Today i will write about the Hunza famous mountain.The Lady

finger (Bubli Mo Ting) is very famous for its shape.The local

name is (Bubli Mo Ting) mean the tower of Ms.Bubli.The local

people of Karimabad and Altit were believing that on the top of

mountain Ms.Bubli the Holy women were living there.And after

that when it became famouse for tourist and climbers its name

took Lady Finger.Becauseits shape look like the finger of women

and may be the vegetable lady finger.

Well it is still unclimed mountail,because of its dangerous shape

round every side.and on the wright of that mountain is called

Hunza Peak.Which these two mountain are famouse for there

beauti and its colour when the sun shine.

Altit Fort

Good Morning,

As i mentioned in previous blog that,we have two old forts in Hunza.

One is Baltit fort and onether is Altit fort.The Altit fort is also

interesting,because of its location.The Altit fort is more older than

Baltit fort.Even the Altit village is the second oldest village in

Hunza.Well Altit fort is built on a rock edge.The edge behind the

fort is really dangerous because of its hight from Hunza river.As

our grand father saidthe Altit fort is arround 900 years old.

By th way the Altit fort is now underrepair by A.K.C.S.P.And it

was owned by the King of Hunza but it is gifted to Aga Khan Cultural

Harritge.At the front of Altit fort there is old settelment, the people

of Altit villageare still living in old houses.The settlement is repaired

by A.K.C.S.P and the Japan embassy.The sevrage line and the

filtered water pipe is fixed inevery houses.Arround the old houses

there was watch towers and big wall for the enemies.When the

Hunza was state there was many enemies.Arround the wall there

used to be one enterance and neare to0 entrancethere was used to

be a conference hall called JATAQ.In Hunza we have many

different festival in different seasons.The festivals and special

meeting with the king used to be held in the conference hall.Out side

of the settelment there is a big pool.It said that, to built the fort

the people used the mud from the that pool,but now the childern are

swiming in this pool in summer.Well this fort is now underrepaire

and will finish the work till end of 2011.Due to underrepaire we can

not enter, but we can see the old settlement and the fort from out

side.

Baltit Fort

Good Morning,

In Hunza we have many historical areas and things.Which is

most intresting and amazing thing.One of thoes is Batit Fort in

the capital of Hunza Karimabad (Baltit).As the carban test it is

767 years old.

In ancient time there was more than 7 states in Northern Area

of Pakistan.But the most famous state was the Nagar and Hunza

state.For the state defense the Hunza people built two forts in

Hunza.One is at Altit village nearer to Karimabad (Baltit).That is

now underrepaire by Aga Khan Culture and Support Programme

(A.K.C.S.P).Onether is at Karimabad called Baltit Fort.

Before there was a ruler king called Mir (Thum).The people

were under working of Mir (Thum).But in 1974 the prime minister

of Pakistan Mr.Bhutto has finished the rule of state in Northern

Areas and made it a part of Pakistan.Which now called FANA

means Addministaration of Northern Areas.

Well this fort was owned by The Mir (Thum) untill 1990.But it is

gifted to The Prince Aga Khan.But the Aga Khan Cultural Harritage

has repaired it for the tourists arround from 1996 to 1998.Now it is

become a mouseum for tourist interests.
This Fort is looks like the Rassa Potala Palace in Tibet,because this

fort is reconstructed by the Balti (Skardu) people during 15 century.

When the Mir of Hunza state Mr.Ayasho has married with the princes

of Balti (Skardu) Ms.Shah Khatoon.As we know the Skardu is called

the little Tibet,because in the history the people came from Tibet.

Anyway during the marriage ceremony many massons has came with

princesShah Khatoon.The carved this fort as like Tibet Palace (Rassa

Potala).

This fort has experinced many battles with other states and even

withBritian soldiers during 1991 the King of Hunza Mr.Safdar Ali

Khan has escape because of Britian soldiers.And the Britian has

appointed Mr.Nazeem Khan as the king of Hunza State.

In 1945 the Hunza king Mr.Jamal Khan has built new palace in

Karimabad.But 1974 the Hunza state became a part of Pakistan.

Even nowthe people of Hunza are respecting of king.Now he is the

chief commissionerof Northern Areas.And his sons are runnig a

business in Hunza of Hoteling.The Darbar Hotel at Karimabad is

very famous for tourist because of thelocal touch building.

Good Morning,
When i was in Hunza there was a big land slide nearer Gulmit.
This was because of the melting of Gulkin Glacier.I think the
road was block only for two or three days.This is happend some
time because of changing weather every year.This year we have
a lots of snow in winter therefore when we have the sunny day
the glacier is melting.And the elevation is also high arround 2800
meter at Gulmit.

Good Morning,

After long time ago i,m writing the blog because i went to Hunza
this month for 12 days on holidays.This was my first time to Hunza
during this season on holidays since 3 years ago.
Well in Hunza i did enjoyed alot with my family.I used to swim in
pool in my childhood.I did swim alot.
Any way the scenery in Hunza was marvollous with lush green field
and the Hunza valley was looks like the hanging garden.The trees
branches were full of fruits.And the cherry were ready to eat untill
end of this month.But unfortunatly there was no any tourist to see
the Hidden Paradise Hunza.

Hunza Glaciers

gorgeous.Its looks like a

snake in valley.The local
people are using glaciers

water for drinking and for
arrigation.Our grandfather was telling that the glacierswere melting or moving its making horror sounds.Before the glaciers were nearer to Hunza valley but now its getting back day by day because of globel warming.

Hello,

As i mentioned i,m from centeral Hunza.But the main bazaar of

our area is Karimabad.From Karimabad my vilage is just 3 KM

called Altit Faizabad.It takes 40 to 50 minutes from Karimabad

by walk and by jeep it takes 15minutes to Faizabad.Which the

name is famous for Khoshi.The old name of Faizabad was Khoshi.

We have 26 houses.100% the people are Shia Imami Ismaili

(The Aga Khani).The population in my village are arround 250.

We have only one Aga Khan primary school.For further study

we are going to Altit or other area in Hunza.Our grandfather was

telling me that it was silk route before Karakorum Highway

(1966-1978).The Karakorum Highway is opposite of our village.

Hello to everyone,

I am Rehmat Ali from Northern Area of Pakisan.I am proude
to born in Hunza, because of nutural resources.I am 29 Years old.
I have done my intermediate education from Gilgit the big city
of Northern Area.I have done Japanese and as well as certificate
in english from Islamabad.I am married.
Well the reason of writing this blog is to introduce the specticular
Hunza to the foriegners who are coming to see the Nothern area of
